HRC Day 13 Updates

Thursday, October 10: Lance Buskey shares updates on the work that Helene Rebuild Collaborative has been doing for the past 13 days.

So much good work! To recap:

• We’ve served 14 counties in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee

• 420 operations

• Volunteers mobilized by foot, dirt bike, ATV, helicopter, and kayak to reach inaccessible communities

• Essential wellness checks in hard-to-access communities

• First contacts and in some cases, evacuations

• Acquisition and distribution of 80 generators, 27 starlinks, food, water, clothing, fuel, infant supplies, household items, medical supplies to hard-hit communities

• Over 600 volunteers

• Volunteers coming from as far away as Texas, Colorado, & Idaho

• Resources brought in from 15 states

• Over 1,400 financial donors

• $250K in funds raised
